How long have you been riding?
I’ve been riding for about 12-13 years now.
How did you learn to ride a mountain bike?
Well first I got on the bike, then I moved the pedals with my feet. That was the start, until I realized I needed some additional skills. I rode on my own for a while before signing up for a women’s mountain bike clinic in Edmonton which helped a lot.
What is your favorite moment involving bikes so far?
Hmm. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I’d say my favorite has been getting other ladies riding with Natalie through the Women on Wheels club. I love teaching new riders the skills they need to feel confident getting out on the trails.
Why do you ride with Women on Wheels YEG?
Well it’s debatable if you can say I even ride with them as my time has been extremely limited the past few years! But the main reason is that we wanted to create an open, friendly, inclusive, no pressure kind of environment for women to join where they could meet other likeminded women, learn skills and just get out on their bikes without any fear. It’s a great group and we aren’t out to prove anything.
What are you looking forward to most this year?
I’m looking forward to riding more and meeting more amazing women!
