How long have you been riding?
I've been riding for around a dozen or so years. I'd say half of that I had no idea what I was doing. Over the past 5-6 years I've taken courses, watched a lot of "how-to" videos and practiced. Time on the bike is what makes you better and more confident.
How did you learn to ride a mountain bike?
Bought a used full suspension for $75 and headed to Kamloops. I was told, "See you at the bottom!" by friends and left to figure it out. Thankfully I was not alone and learned some Sweet Skills to get down the trail safely. Even with a few endos and blood shed on that trip, I was hooked. Been riding ever since.
What is your favorite moment involving bikes so far?
Hard to narrow that down to one! What comes to mind is any time I've accomplished a scary trail section and lived. Steep shale, technical climb or drop - the rush of adrenaline and feeling of pride always stay with me.
Why do you ride with Women on Wheels YEG?
As co-founder of Women on Wheels YEG, I ride to share my passion of mountain biking with the women of Edmonton.
What are you looking forward to most this year?
Increasing my coaching certifications and riding with more rad chicks. I can't wait!!
